Meet Amy Land, Founder

Amy Land has lived in Western North Carolina (WNC) for 20 years, including 7 years in Brevard. Alongside her husband of 32 years, she has been involved in full-time ministry for 30 years and helped start Grace Brevard Church seven years ago. Now with three grown children, Amy has also been a professional fitness trainer for over 16 years. Ten of those years were spent in Asheville, NC, where she was the top-producing trainer at two clubs simultaneously. For the past six years, Amy has been running her own fitness studio in Brevard/Lake Toxaway.

In her 16+ years as a fitness trainer, Amy has worked one-on-one with thousands of clients and has personally journeyed through overcoming childhood trauma, anorexia, addiction, postpartum depression, and ultimately achieving sobriety. This experience has given her a deep understanding of the personal struggles involved in overcoming trauma, supporting a family, working, and striving for self-improvement while also navigating available resources for support.

Amy wanted to create a space that could offer care and support to hundreds of people in her community. With PurplPlace, she now has the opportunity to channel her skills and experience in a new way, helping to reach and empower many more women.

Why the name PurplPlace?

The color purple carries deep, multifaceted meaning. As a woman who has struggled with my true identity and sense of purpose, I know what it feels like to be lost. I understand the darkness of not wanting to get up in the morning and face life. PurplPlace will be a safe space where all women can receive holistic health support and healing, no matter where they are on their journey.

The color PURPLE has a unique ability to both calm and stimulate our bodies, helping us find the right mindset for introspection and focused insight. It fosters creativity by awakening our senses while also promoting the quiet needed to make intuitive, insightful observations. PURPLE creates a harmonious balance between awareness and peace.
